Glue for thermal binders

My Print hot-melt glue for perfect binders — for seamless glued binding of books, brochures and catalogues. The line has four glues in two types: EVA for the spine (sets into a hard strong seam) — BB Universal, BB Pro Spine, BB Manual; and pressure-sensitive (PSA) for the side — BB Side (stays tacky, holds the cover under pressure).

Below — which glue for which zone and how to apply it.

    Which glue to choose

In short: the book spine (main seam) — EVA glue (BB Universal / Pro Spine / Manual); the side-gluing of the cover — pressure-sensitive PSA (BB Side). Two-zone binding = EVA on the spine + PSA on the side.

    Glue types in detail

    EVA (hot-melt)

On cooling it sets into a hard seam and loses tack («zero tack») — a strong structural bond of the spine.

    Pressure-sensitive (PSA)

After cooling it stays tacky and bonds under pressure — the side gluing of the cover to the block.

    Two-zone binding

EVA on the spine + PSA on the side: the cover holds both at the spine and along the side edge — stronger and more premium.

    Working temperature

Let the binder warm up (15–20 min), keep the zone at 150–180 °C. The low-melt BB Manual suits desktop and manual machines.

    Tip
Don’t mix the zones: EVA is the SPINE (main seam), PSA is the SIDE gluing. A two-zone binder needs both.

FAQ about "Glue for thermal binders":

    • Spine (main seam) — EVA glue: BB Universal, BB Pro Spine, BB Manual.
    • Side (side gluing of the cover) — PSA: BB Side.

EVA sets hard on cooling and is non-tacky — a strong spine bond. PSA stays tacky and bonds under pressure — side gluing.

The working zone is 150–180 °C, warm-up 15–20 min. The low-melt BB Manual (150–170 °C) is for manual and desktop binders.

Choose BB Manual — it is low-melt, so it suits desktop and manual machines with less heating.

    • EVA spine glues (BB Universal, BB Pro Spine, BB Manual) — granules, 25 kg pack.
    • PSA contact glue for the side (BB Side) — briquette “pads” ~3×8 cm, ~500 g each, not granules.
