Binding consumables

My Print binding consumables — combs, wires, coils, covers and calendar hangers for every binder type. The catalogue has five consumable types: plastic comb, metal wire, plastic coil, covers and calendar hangers. The rule is simple — the consumable must match your binder type and the block thickness.

Below — which consumable for which binder, and how to pick diameter and pitch.

In short: comb binder → plastic comb; wire binder → metal wire (pitch 3:1 for thinner blocks, 2:1 for thick); coil binder → plastic coil (pitch 4:1). Covers and hangers complement any type. Pick the diameter by block thickness.

    Plastic comb

Rectangular tines slot into punched holes. Editable: open the comb with an opener to add or remove a sheet. Diameters 6–28 mm cover blocks from a few up to ~250 sheets.

    Metal wire

Twin-loop metal wire (double wire): the block lies flat and opens a full 360°. Pitch 3:1 — for thinner blocks (up to ~120 sh.), 2:1 — for thick ones. Non-editable, premium look.

    Plastic coil

A single plastic coil, pitch 4:1. Flexible and crush-resistant, rotates 360°, available in colours. Ø 8–25 mm for 30–220 sheets.

    Covers and hangers

Card (leather-emboss) and clear plastic A4 covers — front and back of the block, for any binding type. Wire-o hangers — for wall flip calendars.

    How to pick the diameter
Diameter follows block thickness. The smallest Ø (6 mm) is for thin blocks of a few sheets; the largest (28 mm comb) handles up to ~250 sheets. Check the «binds sheets» column on each product and add a 10–15% margin so pages turn freely.

    FAQ about "Bookbinding supplies":

    • Comb binder → plastic comb.
    • Wire binder → metal wire (pitch 3:1 or 2:1).
    • Coil binder → plastic coil (pitch 4:1).

By block thickness. The thinnest blocks take Ø 6 mm; the thickest (comb) up to Ø 28 mm (~250 sheets). Use the «binds sheets» range on each product and add a small margin.

3:1 (three holes per inch) — for thinner blocks up to ~120 sheets; 2:1 — for thick blocks with a larger diameter. The wire pitch must match your binder’s punch.

Depending on type and diameter — 50 or 100 pcs per pack. Smaller diameters usually come in 100s, larger ones in 50s.

Yes, with a plastic comb — it is editable: open the comb with an opener, add or remove a sheet, close it again. Metal wire and coil are non-editable.

Yes — card and clear A4 covers are universal: they go as the front and back of the block regardless of the binding type (comb, wire or coil).
