Printing and Transfer Technology (Step by step)
Design Preparation: Metallic elements appear only where there is no color. CMYK is printed under the colored areas, and transparent spots covered with varnish are left for shiny details. Tip: make a color outline around the metallic elements to make the edges perfect. You can also make the varnish layer slightly larger (trapping) for a beautiful halo.
Printing Process: A-Film (gold/silver/holographic) is fed into the printer. UV inks are applied to it layer by layer: first CMYK, and then varnish in the required places. The metallic dust from the film sticks exclusively to the varnish.
Lamination: Immediately after printing, the A-Film is automatically laminated with the transparent B-Film (mounting). It fixes the image and serves as a base for subsequent transfer.
Surface Preparation: Before applying the sticker to a product (e.g., a bottle), be sure to degrease the surface with a spray. This prevents dust or grease from getting under the sticker.
Image Transfer: Remove the bottom backing (the glue will remain on the image). Apply the film to the product and smooth it from the center to the edges. Carefully press all joints with a soft squeegee or cloth. Finally, carefully peel off the mounting film — only the reliable image with a metallic layer will remain on the surface.
