Description Paper for cold deco My Print Waterslide for inkjet printer white A4, 2 sheets (7670)

White waterslide decal for inkjet printers: a trial pack

A trial pack of the white waterslide decal for inkjet printers: 2 A4 sheets to test the technique and the white base on your exact surface — a black mug, a colored candle, a dark model. The white opaque base covers the object's color and provides the white background itself: inkjet printers do not print white, here the paper does that job. The workflow is classic: print the design, seal it with acrylic spray varnish, soak in warm water for 30–50 seconds — and the thin film moves onto the object. Worked on the trial — the same decal comes in a 10-sheet pack.

Inkjetprint type (ink)
White opaqueimage base, for dark and colored surfaces
2 sheets A4a pack for a trial or a small project
Acrylic varnishrequired, not in the pack — bought separately
30–50 stransfer in warm water
White on dark — without white ink

Check it on your very first mug: the white base becomes the background itself — the colors stay dense, white labels are truly white, the dark surface does not eat the design.

The spray varnish is not included in the pack — order it together with the paper.

Is this pack right for you

You own an inkjet (ink-based) printer
The surface is dark or colored: a black mug, a colored candle, a dark model — or the design has white elements
You want to try the white decal or make a few pieces — the classic workflow with no laminator or press; the oven is optional
You will need acrylic spray varnish (sold separately, not in the pack). Prefer to skip varnish — take Varnish Free white (A+B): film B does the sealing there, but you need a laminator and an oven
The base is opaque: cut the decal exactly along the contour, and on light surfaces where no background is needed the white body shows — there the transparent version works better
Planning a run — two sheets are not enough: there is the same decal in a 10-sheet pack
You own a laser printer — this paper is made for ink; take the laser white paper, it needs no varnish at all
You need the design on fabric or skin — that is heat transfer paper or tattoo paper, not an object decal

Four layers that make the transfer possible

1Ink-receptive coatingabsorbs ink and keeps it crisp, without bleeding
2White opaque carrier filma dense white background that moves onto the object with the design and does not show through
3Water-soluble adhesive layer (dextrin)dissolves in warm water and releases the film
4Paper backingkeeps the sheet flat in the printer and gives up the film in water

Why this pack

A small pack for a check

Two sheets — see how the white base behaves on your exact surface, without paying for a big pack

Works on dark surfaces

The white base covers the object's color: the design reads on black ceramic and colored wax

Colors do not show through

Water-based inks are semi-transparent — the white background under them keeps the colors bright on any surface

White without white ink

White labels and backgrounds come from the paper itself: leave them unprinted in the design

Start with no equipment

A printer, spray varnish and a bowl of warm water — no press or laminator; the oven is optional

Easy scaling

The trial worked — the same decal comes in a 10-sheet pack for runs

From design to a black mug

Prepare the design
Print straight — do not mirror. Leave white areas unprinted: the paper itself turns white, and the colors land on a white background.

Print
With an inkjet printer on the glossy (working) side of the sheet. Let the ink dry.

Key step
Apply the varnish
Acrylic spray: 3 thin coats, each left to dry. Without varnish, water-based ink dissolves in water.

Cut out the decal
Exactly along the design contour: the white base is opaque, and a leftover margin shows on the object.

Soak
Warm water, 30–50 seconds — until the film starts sliding freely off the backing.

Transfer
Hold it against the clean, degreased surface and slide the film off the backing onto the object.

Smooth
Push out water and bubbles from under the film with a sponge, working from the center.

Fix
Bake in the oven at 150 °C for 10–15 minutes, or let it dry naturally for ~3 days. For tableware that will be washed, we recommend the oven.
Tip: This is the workflow of the Regular inkjet paper specifically. Film Free and Varnish Free work differently — follow the page of your exact type and do not mix the steps.

Where it shines

The first black mug
Fit the design and the white background on a real object before a run
A trial on a colored candle
See how the thin film hugs the wax and whether the label holds in a rich color
A couple of gifts, not a run
Two sheets cover a small project without leftover paper in a drawer
White emblems on a dark model
Try the white backing under fine details and markings

What can go wrong

A white edge around the design

Cause: the decal was cut with a margin, and the white base is opaque — the margin shows

Fix: cut exactly along the design contour, with scissors or a plotter
The design “melted” in water

Cause: the ink was not sealed or the varnish had not dried

Fix: 3 thin coats of acrylic varnish, each dried, plus full drying before soaking
The film does not slide off the backing

Cause: the water is too cool or the soak too short

Fix: warm water and a bit more time — the film should move freely, do not pull it by force
Bubbles and wrinkles under the film

Cause: the water was not pushed out while the film was wet

Fix: smooth with a sponge from the center right after the transfer
The decal rubbed off after washing

Cause: abrasives, a dishwasher or long soaking of the piece

Fix: hand wash with a soft sponge only: this is a decorative coating, not factory glaze

Questions and answers

Where does the white come from if the printer cannot print it?

From the paper itself: the image base is a white opaque film. White areas stay unprinted and look white on the object.

Which surfaces is this pack for?

Dark and colored ones: black ceramic, richly colored wax, dark plastic. On white and very light surfaces the white background is unnecessary — take the transparent trial pack there.

Is varnish still required?

Yes. The white base does not change the workflow: water-based ink is sealed with 3 thin coats of acrylic spray. Varnish is not in the pack — it is bought separately.

Do I need to mirror the design?

No. The decal lands on the object face up, so you print it straight. Mirroring is for heat transfer and tattoo paper — those are different materials.

How many pieces does the pack cover?

One A4 sheet fits several designs depending on size, so two sheets are enough for a trial of the technique or a small project. For a run take the 10-sheet pack.

Can I wash a mug with a decal?

By hand with a soft sponge — yes. A dishwasher, microwave or abrasives will destroy the design. Place the decal in the decorative zone, not where people drink from.

Will it work in a laser printer?

No. This paper is made for ink; for toner there is the laser white version — it needs no varnish.
