Description My Print PET film for inkjet printing is waterproof, A4, 20 sheets, transparent (7766)

Transparent A4 PET film with no adhesive layer

This is a transparent film for inkjet printers with no adhesive layer: you print the image and get a clean transparent sheet, not a sticker. There is nothing to peel — there is no liner here. This is the film you need wherever transparency itself is the job: overlays on drawings and diagrams, templates, transparent inserts, sheets for projection. This variant is A4, 20 sheets; in the catalogue it carries the "Feature" value "Water-resistant".

Is this the right one for you

You need a transparent overlay on a drawing, map, diagram or form — and to lift it off afterwards
You are making a template, a transparent insert, or material for a lightbox or projection
You want the 20-sheet A4 pack rather than the 5-sheet one
You are printing photos "to look nice" — the film is transparent, so light areas simply stay transparent
You actually need a sticker — this film has no adhesive layer; the self-adhesive items are in the rest of the category
You have a laser printer — a fuser needs a separate laser film; this one is made for inkjet

What the sheet is made of

1Ink-receptive coatingthe working side: absorbs and holds liquid ink so droplets do not bead up or spread
2PET basetransparent polyester: by material class this is a dimensionally stable film
3Reverse sidebare PET: no adhesive, no liner, no protective film — nothing to peel

Why this film

Transparency without adhesive

Place it on a drawing, into a frame or into a sleeve — and take it away again: there is no adhesive layer, so there is nothing to unstick.

PET as the base

Polyester belongs to the dimensionally stable film family — that is a property of the material class, not a measured registration accuracy for this item.

The "Water-resistant" feature

This is the catalogue axis on which this item differs from A4, 20 sheets carrying "Not water-resistant". The format (A4), the print area (210×297 mm) and the quantity per pack (20 sheets) are the same for both.

Twenty sheets per pack

The large A4 pack in this range; the small one is 5 sheets.

One working side

The coating is applied on one side only; a test print shows which side that is.

From file to finished sheet

Find the working side
The coating is on one side only. If unsure, print a test strip on a single sheet: on the working side the ink lies evenly, on the reverse it beads up and smudges.
Key step
Check the settings with a test print
Print modes differ from printer to printer and from ink to ink, so make a small test print on your own settings before a production run.
Print one sheet at a time
Feed sheets individually rather than as a stack.
Let the print dry
Put the sheet aside and do not stack the next one on top until the ink no longer transfers to the touch.
Use the transparency
An overlay simply sits on top of the sheet or drawing.
Store it dry
Keep the pack in a closed bag: excess moisture makes the film cloudy.
Tip: Hold the test print up to the light — that shows both the working side and how the black lies.

The ten items in this slice are compared on three catalogue axes: format, quantity per pack and the value of the "Feature" attribute. In the catalogue each of them is recorded as transparent glossy PET for inkjet printing with no adhesive layer.

Where this film works best

Engineer or architect: a transparent overlay on a drawing
The option is shown, marked up and removed — the original stays untouched
Teacher and trainer: a transparent sheet for a projector or lightbox
Transparent sheets are the classic medium for projection and lightbox work
Craft workshop: a cutting template and a transparent insert
The outline is visible through the material, so the template simply lies on top of it
Copy shop: a "printing on transparent film" service
A ready A4 sheet format for customer orders

What goes wrong and why

Ink beads up and smudges

Cause: the print landed on the reverse side, where there is no coating

Fix: print a test strip, identify the working side, then load every sheet the same way
Sheets stick together and the image transfers to the next one

Cause: the stack was assembled while the ink was still wet

Fix: dry each sheet separately and stack only once the ink no longer transfers
The film turned cloudy before printing

Cause: the pack was stored in a damp place

Fix: keep it in a closed bag

Frequently asked questions

Does this film stick? Where is the liner?

No, this is film with no adhesive layer: there is no liner and nothing to peel. If you need an actual sticker, that is a different product type in the same category, marked in the "Type" filter with the value "Self-adhesive".

Is it suitable for screen printing?

A photo-emulsion stencil is exposed with ultraviolet light at 350–420 nm, and the image on the film has to block that ultraviolet — so what matters is the density of the black, not photo quality. That is a requirement on the class of transparent media; we have not measured the optical density of this particular item, so run a short test exposure on your own frame before a production run.

Can I print it on a laser printer?

No. Laser transparencies are a separate product designed for the heat of a fuser; this film has an ink-receptive coating for inkjet printing.

Which side do I print on?

The side with the coating — it is applied on one side only. A test strip on a single sheet answers this unambiguously: on the working side the ink lies evenly, on the reverse it beads up.

How does the water-resistant version differ from the ordinary one?

By the catalogue "Feature" value: this one is "Water-resistant", A4, 20 sheets is "Not water-resistant". The format (A4), the print area (210×297 mm) and the quantity per pack (20 sheets) are the same for both. The catalogue gives no test method, so we do not describe any specific behaviour in water.

How many sheets are in the pack and what size are they?

20 sheets of A4, print area 210×297 mm.

How do I hold the printed sheet in place?

Mounting is a separate matter here: the film has no adhesive layer, so the sheet goes into a frame or a sleeve, is held under glass, or is fixed with whatever suits your surface. An overlay usually needs no mounting at all — the sheet simply lies on top.
