Sublimation on Fabrics: Which Materials Work and Why

Sublimation on Fabrics: Which Materials Work and Why

The Golden Rule of Sublimation on Fabric

Sublimation only works with polyester (65%+). Inks penetrate synthetic fibers when heated in a heat press.

100% Polyester — Ideal

Maximum brightness, wash resistance, durability. No tactile print feel.

Blended Fabrics

  • 65/35 — acceptable but 30-40% paler
  • Below 50% polyester — not recommended

For cotton, use DTF printing instead.
