Description Film for inkjet printing My Print PET, A3, 20 sheets, transparent (11047)

Transparent A3 PET film with no adhesive layer

This is a transparent film for inkjet printers with no adhesive layer: you print and get a clean transparent sheet, not a sticker. There is no liner and nothing to peel. A3 takes on what does not fit A4: an overlay for an A3 drawing, a large diagram, a large template. In the catalogue this item carries the "Feature" value "Not water-resistant". The pack holds 20 sheets; the small pack in the same format is 5 sheets.

Is this the right one for you

You have to cover an A3 drawing, map or diagram with a transparent overlay
You make large templates, transparent inserts, sheets for a projector or lightbox
You want the 20-sheet A3 pack rather than the 5-sheet one
Your printer only goes up to A4 — then you need the A4 item in this range
You specifically need the "Water-resistant" feature — that is A3, 20 sheets carrying "Water-resistant"
You actually need a sticker — this film has no adhesive layer; the self-adhesive items are in the rest of the category
You have a laser printer — that needs a separate laser film

What the sheet is made of

1Ink-receptive coatingthe working side: absorbs liquid ink so it does not bead up across a large area
2PET basetransparent polyester: by material class this is a dimensionally stable film
3Reverse sidebare PET: no adhesive, no liner, no protective film — nothing to peel

Why this film

The "Not water-resistant" feature

This is the catalogue axis on which this item differs from A3, 20 sheets carrying "Water-resistant". The format (A3), the print area (297×420 mm) and the quantity per pack (20 sheets) are the same for both.

A sheet larger than A4

An overlay for an A3 drawing comes out on a single sheet — no taping two halves together.

PET as the base

Polyester belongs to the dimensionally stable film family — that is a property of the material class, not a measured scale accuracy for this item.

Twenty sheets per pack

The large A3 pack in this range; the small one is 5 sheets.

An honest boundary

We say plainly what we do not know: the catalogue gives the value of the "Feature" attribute but no test method, so we do not describe how the print behaves in water.

From file to finished sheet

Find the working side
The coating is on one side only. A test strip: on the working side the ink lies evenly, on the reverse it beads up.
Key step
Check the settings with a test print
Print modes differ from printer to printer and from ink to ink, so make a small test print on your own settings before a production run.
Print one sheet at a time
Feed sheets individually rather than as a stack.
Let the print dry
Do not stack sheets while the ink still transfers to the touch.
Store it flat
Keep the pack horizontal in a closed bag: excess moisture makes the film cloudy.
Tip: Print at 100 % scale and switch off "fit to page" — otherwise the overlay will not line up with the drawing.

This one or its neighbour in the range

The ten items in this slice are compared on three catalogue axes: format, quantity per pack and the value of the "Feature" attribute. In the catalogue each of them is recorded as transparent glossy PET for inkjet printing with no adhesive layer.

Where this film works best

Design office: an overlay on an A3 drawing
The alternative assembly is shown over the original and the original stays untouched
Training centre: a set of large transparent diagrams
Transparent sheets are the classic medium for projection and lightbox work
Office: a transparent overlay form on a large blank or plan
Filled in, shown, lifted off — the blank stays clean
Workshop: a large cutting template
The outline is visible through the material and the line does not blur
Design studio: checking layer registration on a large artwork
Two sheets laid on top of each other show the match at once

What goes wrong and why

Ink beads up and smudges

Cause: the print landed on the reverse side, which has no coating

Fix: print a test strip, then load every sheet the same way up
The overlay does not line up with the drawing

Cause: the scale changed at print time through "fit to page"

Fix: print at 100 % scale with no auto-fit
Sheets stuck together in the stack

Cause: the stack was assembled while the ink was still wet

Fix: dry each sheet separately and stack only once the ink no longer transfers
The film turned cloudy before printing

Cause: the pack was stored in a damp place

Fix: keep it in a closed bag

Frequently asked questions

Does this film stick?

No. This is film with no adhesive layer: there is no liner and nothing to peel. The self-adhesive items in the same category are marked in the "Type" filter with the value "Self-adhesive".

What does "not water-resistant" mean?

It is the value of the catalogue "Feature" attribute. The item carrying "Water-resistant" in the same format and the same pack is A3, 20 sheets; the catalogue gives no test method, so we do not describe any specific behaviour in water.

Do I need a separate A3 printer?

Yes, the printer has to print A3. If your machine only takes A4, this range also has A4, 20 sheets.

Can I make screen-printing positives with it?

This is conditional guidance at the level of the class of transparent media: a photo emulsion is exposed with ultraviolet at 350–420 nm, and the printed black has to block it. We have not measured the optical density of this particular item. So before a production run, run a short test exposure on your own frame.

Can I print it on a laser printer?

No, a laser needs a separate film built for the heat of the fuser.

Which side do I print on?

The coated side; the coating is on one side only, and a test strip answers it unambiguously.

What exactly is the sheet size?

Print area 297×420 mm, 20 sheets per pack.
