What is DTF Printing?
DTF (Direct to Film) is a printing technology where the image is first applied to a special film using a printer with pigment inks, then coated with thermoadhesive powder and transferred onto fabric using a heat press.
Unlike sublimation, DTF works on virtually any fabric: cotton, polyester, blends, even leather and denim. This makes the technology significantly more versatile.
Advantages of DTF Printing Over Sublimation
1. Material versatility. Sublimation requires fabrics with at least 65% polyester content. DTF works on any material.
2. Vibrant prints on dark fabrics. Sublimation is limited to light fabrics. DTF delivers bright prints even on black.
3. Simple process. No need to mirror images or select special paper — just print, apply powder, and transfer with a heat press.
4. Wash resistance. DTF transfers withstand 50+ wash cycles without significant quality loss.
5. Minimal startup investment. All you need is a DTF printer and a heat press.
